Heart and Soul: Dog Walking at the Üröm Animal Shelter

At IDBC, we are not only focused on digital solutions but also on addressing real-world issues. That’s why we have once again organized our IDBC for Animals CSR program. Our company philosophy supports individual initiatives of our employees, showcasing each CSR program as a heartfelt cause of enthusiastic colleagues. Yesterday marked the 4th edition of the IDBC for Animals CSR program, which I had the honor of leading for the third time. This program is close to my heart because through the foundation, I was able to meet my puppy.

This year, we supported the Üröm Animal Shelter with material donations and volunteer dog walking.

The goal of the Üröm Animal Shelter is to reunite rescued animals with their original owners, provided that the living conditions are suitable. They also focus on rehabilitating, healing, and teaching mentally or physically injured animals. Additionally, their aim is to educate children about responsible pet ownership from a young age. Therefore, they welcome visits to schools, kindergartens, and their shelter is child-friendly as well.

We announced the collection one month in advance so that everyone had the opportunity to bring their offered items to the office.

On the afternoon of April 18th, twelve of us set off in our cars filled with many donations (which I would like to thank all contributing colleagues for) to the shelter to bring joy to the animals living there.

After a brief introduction, everyone was quickly paired with a dog on a leash and got to walk and play with them for an hour and a half on the shelter’s open, green area. Although the weather was uncertain at the beginning of the week, we ended up having wonderfully sunny weather, allowing everyone to fully enjoy the program.

Participating in such a program can be emotionally challenging for the human soul because there’s nothing sadder than leaving the dogs behind at the end of the program. However, it is completely worth it because even just one day with them becomes brighter because we were there. 😊
